Can y’all believe that we are one week away from Spring. Where has the year gone? I do not know. In any case, today, we are once again talking all thing fragrance. Why, you ask? You see, Spring is the time of year where my beloved gourmands take a backseat (which is huge for me). Why? Because it’s all about the florals, baby! I crave light, bright, feminine floral fragrances. And I have five that I wanted to talk about today. Let’s get to chatting.
SOL DE JANERIO CHEIROSA 68 – $40.00
NOTES – Top: Pitahaya, Litchi. Middle: Jasmine, Sea Notes, Hibiscus. Base: Vanilla, Musk
Let’s start with my gateway Springtime fragrance. Out of all of the Sol De Janeiro fragrances that I own, Cheirosa 68 is the all time fave. The Pitahaya and the Jasmine work so well together. With the Vanilla and Musk adding a warmth to it. This is the perfect amalgamation of fruity and floral. And this will be in heavy rotation.
MARC JACOBS DAISY POP EDT – $119.00
NOTES – Top: Grapefruit, Yuzu, Violet Leaf. Middle: Violet, Jasmine, Kumquat. Base: Musk, Pamplewood, Vanilla.
If Marc Jacobs Daisy has no fans, I’m dead. I have loved Daisy since I was a teenager. And I’ve had quite a few of the flankers in my collection over the years. So, when they launched Daisy Pop earlier this year, I had to have it. It’s a citrusy twist to the iconic Daisy. Very fresh and light. This is the kind of fragrance that is so easy to chuck on throughout the day. And the wear is actually pretty good for an EDT. One thing I will say is that these flankers tend to be limited edition. But I hope this sticks around. Because it’s stunning.
KAYALI CITRUS 08 – $141.00
NOTES – Top: Pink Grapefruit, Rhubarb, Bergamot, Blackcurrant, Pink Pepper. Middle: Bulgarian Rose, Damask Rose. Base: Oakmoss, Musk, Tonka Bean.
I’ve mentioned this in the past, but Citrus 08 by Kayali isn’t my favourite citrus perfume. It is, however, one of my spring go to’s. You only need a couple of light spritzes of this to be set for the day. And when it’s on, that scent ain’t going nowhere. The silage on Citrus 08 is some of Kayali’s best. The Rose notes are what truly stand out for me. With the Bergamot and the Grapefruit adding a subtle sweetness. Now, word on the street is that this has recently been discontinued. And if that is the case, I would be sad about it. This is an often forgotten gem in Kayali’s line.
ELLIS BROOKLYN FLORIST EDP – $55.00 for 10ml
NOTES – Top: Bergamot, Pear, Lily Of The Valley, Lemon. Middle: Gardenia, Tuberose, Honeysuckle, Jasmine Sambac. Base: Ambroxan, Virginia Cedar, Australian Sandalwood.
I have talked this one to death on here. So, I’ll give you the Cliff’s Notes. Easily my favourite white floral fragrance. The wear on this is phenomenal. It’s Gardenia heaven. I cannot recommend it enough.
GLASSHOUSE FRAGRANCES FOREVER FLORENCE EDP – $99.95*
NOTES – Top: Pear, Peach, Citruses. Middle: Peony, Lily, Jasmine, Heliotrope. Base: Musk, Sandalwood, Amber.
We’ll wrap this up with this underrated Aussie gem. So, fun fact, Forever Florence is one of my favourite floral candles that Glasshouse makes. And I was over the moon when they sent me the EDP version. It’s like a more sophisticated version of the candle. With the Pear and Peach adding a subtle fruity note that compliments the Lily, Peony, and Jasmine so well. This is Springtime in a bottle for me. Definitely recommended.
Wow, I could really talk about fragrances all day. But I think I’ll leave it here. Let me know what your Springtime Perfumes are in the comments.
Cheers and love
Emily xo
