Those who have been following along with my Shop My Stash series will know that for the last two months, I’ve had an almost all one brand stash this time around. That brand being Mecca Max. Why Mecca Max? Well, in the over three years since I did my initial One Brand Recommendations on them, they have had so many more incredible new launches. Many of which I feel are deeply underappreciated. So, I once again wanted to give Mecca Max a chance to have the spotlight, as it were. So, let’s get into my new picks from the brand!
MECCA MAX DEW OVER HYDRATING PRIMER – $25.00
Generally speaking, primers are not a 100% necessary step for me. But when my skin is on the drier side, a good, nourishing primer is very much needed. And this one has been fantastic! It’s loaded with skin loving ingredients like Aloe and Jojoba. Best of all, I do find that my other products go on way smoother when I use this.
MECCA MAX OFF DUTY SERUM SKIN TINT – $32.00 (review here)
My review of this was very recent. So, Cliff’s Notes version it is! One of the better skin tints that I’ve come across. Especially at this price point. Gives a lovely dewiness to the skin. And it’s pretty long wearing to boot!
MECCA MAX OFF DUTY SERUM CONCEALER – $26.00
Thank god this launched when it did! I started off with the Life Proof Concealer in my stash. And I was having a very bad time with it. The formula is just so sticky and heavy under the eyes. And it creased up a storm! The Off Duty Concealer, on the other hand, is so lovely and light. A true serum consistency. It reminds me quite a bit of my beloved Swipe Concealer from Tower 28. But the coverage of the Off Duty is more medium buildable coverage. Great for everyday wear.
MECCA MAX LIFE PROOF TINTED PRESSED SETTING POWDER – $26.00
I mentioned in the intro that there were some underrated gems in this stash? Meet the Life Proof Powder. If I’m ever wanting to boost the coverage of whatever complexion product I have on, this is the powder I turn to. It’s weightless on the skin, but gives so much added coverage. I can see myself going through this pan quickly.
MECCA MAX MINI MIX EYESHADOW PALETTE – $22.00
I’ve spoken very highly of these palettes in the past. So I won’t repeat myself too much. All I’ll say is that these are still some of the best palettes you can get for less than $25. I have the palette named Total Breeze and it’s such a easy one to wear for a daytime look.
MECCA MAX SUNLIT SKIN POWDER BRONZER – $26.00
Now, full disclosure, this is the sole repeat from my part 1. In the time since I did my original Mecca Max OBR, this bronzer got both reformulated and repackaged. Which would normally send my blood cold. Especially because I have loved this bronzer for years. After I used this version, however, all of my worries were gone. It’s basically the same product, just in new packaging. The updated Sunlit Skin Bronzer is still easily blendable, still perfectly pigmented, and it still wears the same. I did note some gold shimmer in the new formula, but it doesn’t translate on my cheeks in a noticeable way. It’s still good. I don’t have to cry.
MECCA MAX CHEEK CRUSH POWDER BLUSH – $25.00
These also got a redo at the same time as the bronzer. Fortunately, I never got around to trying the original formula. So, I can grade these on their own. And boy, are they good! They add such a lovely punch of colour to the cheeks. With a slight sheen to boot. I have the shade Guava Blossom and Pinky Promise. But the range of shades in this collection are all stunning!
MECCA MAX OFF DUTY LIQUID BLUSH – $24.00
So, here is my confession. I like this formula more than the Off Duty Blush Sticks. And that is saying something. Because those Blush Sticks have been my faves for ages. But there is just something about this formula. It’s impossible to stuff up. They blend out with my fingers so easily. And they wear pretty much all day long.
MECCA MAX POUT POP SHEER LIPSTICK – $23.00
I’ll say it. Out of all of the Mecca Max lip products that I’ve tried, this is my favourite formula. How I don’t own 20 of these is a testament to my will power. Because this formula is everything! Shiny, smoothing, with just the right amount of pigment.
MECCA MAX GLAZE PHASE LIP OIL – $15.00
If the Pout Pop Sheer Lipsticks are the all time faves, these are second in line. They have the shine of a gloss, but the lightness and nourishment of an oil. And the sheer hint of pigment makes them adaptable to any lip look.
MECCA MAX BEAUTY BULLET FLAWLESS SPHERE – $10.00
I know that I normally keep these posts to 10 products. But I fear this post would be incomplete if I didn’t include this. I’ve used literally dozens of different beauty sponges in my time. But the Beauty Bullet Flawless Sphere will be the one I always go back to. It’s one of the bigger beauty sponges that I’ve tried. But it’s not super porous. So I genuinely feel like it’s not absorbing as much product as other sponges that I’ve tried. It also has a nice bounce to it. Making anything I blend look super even. And it’s the only sponge that I’ve tried that I can use wet or dry. The next time you do a Mecca order, add one of these to your cart and then thank me.
And that is a wrap on this One Brand Recommendations. And a wrap on this particular stash! Stay tuned for my October/November stash post. Which will be in the next week or so. And as always, let me know your Mecca Max faves in the comments.
Cheers and love
Emily xo
