Happy Tuesday, y’all! We are back today with another bite size reviews. And I have five products that I’m super excited to talk about. So, let’s dive on in!
MECCA MAX OFF DUTY BB CREAM – $22.00
When I did my Mecca Max One Brand Recommendations, I did have a few of you ask what happened with the Off Duty BB Cream. As it was mentioned in my Mecca Max stash as one I was planning on reviewing. Well, here’s your answer. It’s the KVD Good Apple Balm all over again. It looked so greasy and heavy on my skin. No matter what primer I used underneath it, how I applied it, what I set it with, I could not get this to look good on me. The longest I wore this for was an hour into my work shift before I had to remove it. And it wasn’t even user error on my part. The shade was a pretty spot on match. I just really did not like how this sat on my face. Stick with the Serum Skin Tint. It’s $10 more, but it wears so much better.
HUDA BEAUTY EASY BLUR PRIMER – $50.00
If you’ve been following along with my stashes over the years, you will know that blurring primers aren’t usually my thing. I’m personally not wild about the feel of silicone on my skin. But I was super intrigued by this one when Huda said it was a silicone free blurring primer. And I will say, having now used it with several different foundations, it does noticeably blur my skin underneath, without leaving my skin feeling super slippery. I mostly target this around my nose and chin. And I find pressing it into the skin rather than rubbing helps a great deal. The only thing I will say is that I don’t notice it improving the overall wear time of my foundation. But I do recommend this one.
NYX THE MARSHMELLOW SETTING SPRAY – $18.99
This one I picked up because it was getting all kinds of hype online. I am easily susceptible to peer pressure, as you all know. But if I’m being honest, while this isn’t a bad setting spray by any means, this also isn’t my favourite either. The spritz is a little uneven for my liking. And I find that it doesn’t make much difference to my makeup’s overall wear. I will say that it smells lovely. But it’s a scent that lingers for a while (maybe you could do something with that information, NYX?) So if you’re sensitive to fragrance, maybe give this a skip.
MAC MINERALIZE BLUSH in DAINTY – $56.00
MAC Cosmetics doesn’t get the love it so throughly deserves. I mean, they’ve been around for 40 years for a reason. The products are generally all amazing. But the Mineralize Blushes are something truly special. The perfect kiss of colour and a glow that adds that little something something to the cheeks. If you haven’t tried these, I cannot recommend them enough.
FENTY BEAUTY GLOSS BOMB STIX – $39.00
Outside of my annual MAC lipstick haul, I cannot remember the last time I actually bought a bullet lipstick. So, when I saw these all over my IG feed, I was fully prepared to skip them. Thank god I changed my mind on that thought, because these have shot up to the top of my lippie rankings. The two shades I have are Blaz’d Donut and Fenty Glow (you can find swatches here). And these are so creamy, with just the right amount of pigment and shine. I’m so tempted to get more shades the next time Sephora has a sale.
Well, that was fun! I hope you enjoyed these reviews. And I will see you all on Friday!
Cheers and love
Emily xo
