Happy First of November, everyone. This is the time of year where all of the big brands do their major sales in the lead up to the holidays. And every year since before I can remember, Deciem, the brand behind The Ordinary and Niod, hold their annual Slowvember sale. For the entire month of November, you can get 23% off site wide. The idea behind it is a novel one. With all of the craziness surrounding the November sales period (Black Friday being the biggie), they wanted to give their shoppers a chance to pick up their faves all throughout the month, no matter the day.
Now, Deciem has a gigantic range of skincare through both of their major lines. So, I wanted to shout out the products that I feel like are their top picks. Some of these are long time faves. Others are more recent loves. But all get the Emmie’s Beauty Life tick of approval. Let’s get into it!
*Em’s Note* Full disclosure, I am on Deciem’s PR List. And many of these have been sent to me over the years. I will disclose all PR with an asterisk.
THE ORDINARY GLYCOLIPID CREAM CLEANSER – $19.70*
The Ordinary generally nails their cleansers. But this is a genuine standout in The Ordinary’s line. Especially for those for those with combo-dry skin. I loved this both as a first cleanse or a second cleanse. It’s especially good at breaking down makeup. And it leaves my skin feeling cleansed and bouncy soft.
THE ORDINARY SOOTHING AND BARRIER SUPPORT SERUM – $29.10*
This bottle of pink magic is the only serum that can stand toe to toe with my beloved Rebound Serum as far as barrier repair goes. I credit this serum in particular for getting my skin back in shape after my reaction to the Summer Fridays Sunscreen. I will be picking another one of these up during the sale.
THE ORDINARY SACCHAROMYCES FERMENT 30% MILKY TONER – $24.00*
I’ve tried a few milky toners in my time. But this is the only one I’ve tried that has the exfoliating component to it. The formula itself is very thin, but deeply nourishing. And it’s a fabulous choice for those with sensitive skin. I can see this being on a lot of Best Of lists come the end of the year.
NIOD FLAVANONE MUD – $61.00
I’ve tried a ton of mud masks over my years as a beauty lover. But to this day, I’m yet to find a mask that I love more than Flavanone. Mostly because it’s the only mask that I’ve ever tried that continues to work even after I rinsed it off. It clears, decongests, and purifies the skin without disturbing my barrier. And it never leaves my skin feeling tight or dry. I actually haven’t had a new bottle for a hot minute. And I’m sorely tempted to buy another bottle during the sale.
THE ORDINARY MULTI-PEPTIDE + HA SERUM – $52.60*
This is my two in one super weapon for both hydration and anti-aging. It soaks into the skin so quickly and it always leaves my face looking glowy and bouncy. A solid, no nonsense serum for everyone.
THE ORDINARY SQUALANE + AMINO ACID LIP BALM – $16.30*
Now this I didn’t expect to like as much as I do. Formula wise, it’s much thinner than a lot of lip balms that I’ve tried. But it’s so deeply hydrating. I love applying this to the lips right before bed. And when I wake up, my lips are smooth and plump. Plus, it’s unique shape means it instantly stands out amongst your other lip balms. I can definitely see this being a big seller during the sale.
NIOD SUPEROXIDE DISMUTASE SACCHARIDE MIST – $80.00
Another repeat fave of mine. This has been my go to mist for literal years. I’ve lost count at how many bottles I’ve gone through. It instantly calms my skin when it’s red and irritated. And it helps protect my skin barrier over time.
THE ORDINARY MULTI PEPTIDE EYE SERUM – $39.50
I’m normally a fan of thicker eye creams. But this has been so lovely and light. I use it in the morning, gently dotting a drop around my eye area. My under eyes look instantly depuffed and hydrated.
THE ORDINARY NATURAL MOISTURIZING FACTORS + INULIN BODY LOTION – $23.90*
One of my pet peeves in life is when a body cream takes forever to soak into the skin. And as a result, I’m super picky when it comes to what I moisturise my body with at night. The Moisturizing Factors has been a godsend for me. Because this soaks into the skin so incredibly quickly. I can slather this on and within minutes, my skin so soft, supple, and moisturised. I cannot get enough of this one.
THE ORDINARY SALICYLIC ACID 0.5% BODY SERUM- $24.20
And finally, another recent fave. If you’re someone who struggles with bacne, ingrown hairs, and KP, and you can’t use Glycolic Acid, this is one you have to try. The serum is very light and thin. But it’s made a world of a difference to the appearance of my skin.
And that is a wrap on my Deciem picks! If you do want to shop the sale, it kick starts 1pm November 1st (QLD time). And will run until December 6th. Also, remember that November 29th will be their ‘Blackout Day’, where the site will be shut down. Let me know what you have your eye on in the comments.
Cheers and love
Emily xo
