Well, y’all. It’s now less than a week to go until Christmas. And like many of us beauty lovers, I’ve been deciding what my Christmas morning makeup look is going to be. I keep changing my mind on whether I want to do a full beat or to keep it simple. The only thing I do know is that I want to cap it off with a red lip. And today, I wanted to show you all some of my favourite red lip options. Some of these are light and easy to wear. And others are here to really a statement. Let’s get into it!
MAYBELLINE SUPERSTAY TEDDY TINT in COQUETTISH – $26.99
We’ll begin with probably my most pigmented red lip. The newly released Maybelline Teddy Tint’s are such a soft, air light formula. And while calling them a true stain is a bit of a stretch in my eyes, they do last a while on the lips.
AUSTRALIS LIP GLAZE in RED VELVET – $16.95
It would be a crime if I didn’t have an Australis lippie as an option. I’ve been raving about the Lip Glaze’s since they launched. I was going to put Cherry Bomb on here initially. But Red Velvet packs way more of a punch. This might actually be the lippie I wear on Christmas Day!
ELF CREAM GLIDE LIP LINER in RED RECEIPT – $6.00 and ELF GLOW REVIVER LIP OIL in RED DELICIOUS – $20.00
You know me, I have to have a lip combo somewhere on this list. And this pair of ELF is a real showstopper. The liner goes on super smoothly and the lip oil adds that pop of shine and glow to the finish.
REVLON GLASS SHINE LIPSTICK in LOVE IS ON – $27.95
Now this is a red! The Glass Shine Lipsticks from Revlon are a longtime favourite of mine. The best part about them is that you can wear them either super sheer, or with maximum opacity like I have here.
GISOU HONEY INFUSED LIP OIL in CHERRY ON THE CAKE – $46.00
Finally, it would be wrong if I didn’t have a sparkly option on this list. And look at that sparkle and shine from the Gisou! I’ve been a huge champion of these lip oils over the years. They are deeply nourishing on the lips. Cherry On The Cake was Gisou’s holiday lip oil. But they have another red that is a permanent shade in the line.
And that is not only a wrap on my red lip picks, but a wrap on Emmie’s Beauty Life for 2024. After a particularly challenging year behind the scenes, and the feel of end of year burnout becoming real, I’ve decided to take the full two weeks off during the holiday period to fully rest and recuperate. Like I said, it’s been a mixed year here for the blog. With some massive highs and some painful lows. But I do this because I love it and I love all of you. I want to wish all of y’all a very Merry Christmas, a Happy Holidays, and a massive thank you for all of your love and support this year. And I’ll be back here, empties in tow, on the 3rd of January, 2025!
Cheers and love
Emily xo
