Well, y’all. We’ve finally made it to the finish line. This is the final part of my Best In Beauty series. Today, we will be talking about my favourite body and hair care discoveries of 2024. Fortunately for you all, this should also be my shortest post. Much like my general skincare, I did tend to stick with the old favourites for my bodycare routine. But there were a few new discoveries that stood out from the pack. Especially in the haircare category. So, for the last time, let’s get into the winners.
We’ll start with haircare first this time. And I have to give all of my love to Hairification. The HAIRIFICATION PURE GROW SHAMPOO & CONDITIONER was my go to range throughout 2024. So much so that when I went in for my first trim since introducing the range into my routine, my hairdresser noted how quickly my hair had grown back between appointments. I have since introduced more things into the range into my routine. But the shampoo and conditioner are my winners for 2024.
You knew it was going to be here. The K18 LEAVE IN MOLECULAR REPAIR MASK is a product that I have praised at every opportunity. Where the Hairification range has benefited my hair’s growth, the K18 Mask pretty much covers everything else. My hair is smoother, stronger, breaking a lot less, and overall healthier. She’s pricey, but I will buy it over and over again. It’s that good.
The last hair care Item I wanted to shout out is the VERB GHOST OIL. I’ve mentioned in the past that I avoided hair oils like the plague. I had an oily scalp and worried that using oils would make it worse. After speaking with my hairdresser, she convinced me to give hair oils a go when I was commented on the increased frizz I was experiencing. And this is a great option. for those who want a light oil just to smooth things out.
Moving onto body care, and I have three shower faves that I wanted to share. The FRANK BODY NIACINAMIDE BODY SCRUB is the latest scrub to be added to Frank’s line. And it is scrubby heaven. Very similar in texture to their Rosehip scrub, but with a boost of Niacinamide to help the skin barrier. It also smells delicious to boot.
I mentioned the Everyday By Frank Body Body Washes in my favourites last year. With the Clearing one being my pick. That one has now been overtaken by the EVERYDAY BY FRANK BODY NOURISHING BODY WASH. Not only does this smell incredible. But it also has Oat Extract and Squalane to help nourish and soothe the skin. During winter, this was the body wash I reached for most often.
Now, I was tempted to leave this one out. As it was a more recent discovery. But the BIODERMA ATODERM ULTRA NOURISHING SHOWER OIL has been my go to body care product during the last few months. I’ve been copping a lot of heat rash and chaffing as of late (Summer’s been rough, y’all!). I use this in place of a body was maybe 2-3 times a weeks. And this ultra gentle formulation has helped a great deal with my irritated summer skin.
Getting outside the shower now, I have two body lotions that I have been obsessed with. The THE ORDINARY NATURAL MOISTURISING FACTORS + INULIN BODY LOTION (sent in PR) is the moisturiser I use most nights. It soaks into the skin super quickly and never fails to leave my skin super bouncy and hydrated.
For those occasions where I not only want to be hydrated, but smell good too, the SOL DE JANERIO DELICIA DRENCH BODY BUTTER is whipped, thick, deeply nourishing, and pairs perfectly with the body spray (obviously)
Finally, I have this one-two punch from Alpha-H. The ALPHA-H DAILY DOSE MULTIVITAMIN BODY SERUM (sent in PR) is super lightweight, soaks in with ease, and pairs well under my body SPF. And the ALPHA-H RETINOL REBOOT EXFOLIATING BODY TREATMENT (sent in PR) is what I credit for helping heal a lot of the scarring I have on my arms and chest. It has even improved my skin texture over time. Both of these are well worth checking out.
