You already know what time it is! It’s Mid-March, which means it’s time to talk morning routine. And I have to say, it’s the perfect time to have this chat because my skin is in a really good place at the moment *touch wood*. And I’m crediting my current routine for that. So, let’s chat about what’s made the cut lately!

STEP 1 – CLEANSE
Yeah, I know, I’m juggling two cleansers in the morning again. In my defense though, the GUNK OFF HYDRATING GEL CLEANSER – $52.00* is almost empty. And I prefer to transition a new cleanser in while I’m still using the old cleanser so my skin can adapt. In this case, I’m bringing in the GARNIER PURE ACTIVE HYDRATING CLEANSER – $20.00. I’ve seen a few of my fellow bloggers say that they quite like this one. And so far, I like it too. It has a nice lather and it doesn’t feel like it’s stripping my skin. It does suck when I get it in my eye, though.

STEP 2 – TREATMENT PART 1
Ahh, a new step has entered the villa! I was recently sent the new GO TO CLARIFYING FACE HERO – $56.00* to try out. The idea is that it’s a dry oil that is supposed to help with breakouts and healing the skin barrier. I do this on dry skin before I tone. And this one has blown me away! I’m a notoriously slow healer when it comes to my face blemishes. And I do believe that since I’ve introduced this into my routine, they have healed over much quicker than normal. I’ll definitely keep y’all in the loop the longer I use it.

STEP 3 – TONE
Welcome back to the routine, TOWER 28 SOS DAILY RESCUE FACIAL SPRAY – $46.00. I’ve missed you dearly. Listen, I know that this is a divisive product. But it’s my summer go to for calming redness and soothing the skin. As you can see, though, she is on her last legs. And I do have another very exciting mist to take it’s place come winter. Stay tuned!

STEP 4 – TREATMENT PART 2
While my face is still damp from the mist, I immediately hit it with these three bangers. Firstly, for hydration, the HADA LABO GOKUJYUN PREMIUM GOLD – $30.00. I know that I had this in the toner section last time. But I use it more like an essence to boost the hydration. And my skin is loving it. I also add this to my neck, decolletage, and arms.
After both of those have had a minute to soak in, I go in with the NO. 7 FUTURE RENEW SERUM – $67.99*. I’m in my mid 30’s now. The wrinkles are wrinkling. And I’m really enjoying how light a serum this is. Finally, the LA ROCHE POSAY MELA B3 NIACINAMIDE SERUM – $79.99. This is my hyperpigmentation serum. And oh boy, this stuff is incredible. When I remember to use it, that is. You have to be consistent with your hyperpigmentation serums.

STEP 5 – EYE CREAM
Another one from the previous routine write up. I’m still using the SIBLING SKINCARE EARLY RISER EYE CREAM – $79.99*. And I’ve been enjoying it still. But this is also almost out. And the eye cream that I have next is one that I’ve seen a bunch of y’all talk about.

STEP 6 – MOISTURISE
So, just in case you were living under a rock, Bubble finally launched in Australia late last year. And when I was last in Townsville, I picked up the BUBBLE LEVEL UP BALANCING GEL MOISTURISER – $28.00 to use as my Summer day cream. And for this purpose, it did really nicely. Very lightweight and hydrating, without feeling sticky or pilling. However, as we transition to winter, I do see myself reaching for something with a bit more weight behind it. So, unless I finish this soon (and that is a possibility), this might get rested for the Fresh moisturiser that I have in my night routine.

STEP 7 – SUN PROTECTION
Let’s take a wander into my sunscreen cupboard. And to save headaches, all of these are the one’s I’ve purchased myself (I will show receipts, TGA). The TBH SKINCARE SKIN SHADY SPF 50+ FACE MOISTURISER – $40.00 is almost empty (sad face). This is the one I’ve been using most regularly because it wears beautifully under makeup. The DERMAVEEN INVISIBLE FLUID SPF 50+ – $32.99 is a more recent pickup (only paid $5 for it!). Very lightweight, fluid consistency. The one I’m the most excited to use more of, though, is the ULTRA VIOLETTE FUTURE FLUID SKINSCREEN SPF 50+ – $52.00. I’m a certified mineral SPF hater. But the consistency of this is so light and it doesn’t have that dirt smell that I associate with Zinc based SPF’s. I’ve been saving it for winter when I’m not sweating so much.
And that is a wrap on my morning skincare routine. As always, I know this looks like a lot of product. But I have my routine down to a fine science. And it is working for me. Which is the most important thing. What does your morning skincare routine look like? Let me know in the comments.
Cheers and love
Emily xo
