Two ELF reviews in a row? You better cut that out! (IYKYK). Ahh, we have fun here. Enough jokes though. Today we are reviewing the ELF Lash Xtender Mascara. This is ELF’s most recent mascara launch and it’s also their first foray into the tubing mascara realm. So, let’s get into my thoughts.

ELF COSMETICS LASH XTENDER MASCARA – $18.00 – elfcosmetics.com.au

Starting with the packaging, the Lash Xtender is housed in a sleek, lightweight, black plastic tube. There is chrome silver detail on the tube and the handle of the wand is a teal shade. It’s almost the inverse of their last mascara launch (the Lash ‘n Roll). Which had majority black and pink packaging. And it’s pretty standard packaging for ELF. The Lash Xtender is vegan, cruelty free, and contains 7g of product.

Do I even need to describe the wand for the Lash Xtender Mascara? Because you already know what I’m going to sat. I’m going to say that it’s once again a molded silicone brush in a conical shape. Getting narrower towards the tip. The bristles themselves are of equal size and close together. Again, it’s a wand that is ridiculously common amongst tubing mascaras. One good thing I’ll say about it though is that it’s a good size. Not too long, not to chubby. I didn’t have any dinging issues with this mascara.

What I will say though is that the formula is quite unique as far as tubing mascara formulas go. As you can see on the swatch, you can see that every hair on my hand is coated in product. But there is little to no residual on the skin. This tells me immediately that there is no issues when it comes to clumping with this formula. It also feels very lightweight, and it was pretty budgeproof after leaving it to set. Swiping a damp cloth over my hand removed the swatch easily.
As far as fun ingredients go, the Lash Xtender has 5% Jojoba Seed Oil. Jojoba Seed Oil being a great conditioner for the lashes. But that was the only one of note.

When I first applied the Lash Xtender mascara, I was pretty impressed with the immediate length that I got from it. It’s been a minute since I last tried a good lengthening mascara. And this really scratched that itch. I also got great separation too. The wand has the kind of bristles that easily pick up on the tiny, hidden lashes. But the thing that impressed me the most was the lift and curl that I got. As I mentioned before, this is a very lightweight formula that dries down quickly. Almost giving my lashes a hairspray effect. But how does it hold up throughout the day?

That’s an excellent question that brings me to the wear test. And I’ll be, this actually held up throughout the day! I even had a little bit of trouble figuring out which picture I took at 7:30am and which I took at 5:00pm. The lashes look near identical. As expected, I had no smudging. But I also had no flaking either. This wore so much better than I expected.
Looks like the Lash ‘n Roll has a contender for my favourite mascara from ELF. The Lash Xtender gets an massive thumbs up from me and a glowing recommendation. I cannot speak more highly of it. Have you tried the ELF Lash Xtender Mascara? Let me know in the comments.
Cheers and love
