Emmie Chats – Discontinued Beauty Favourites: Part 5 – It’s Getting Personal…

Posted on May 6, 2025May 6, 2025 by emmiesbeautylifeadmin

Six months. That’s how long it took for me to have to do another one of these posts. What is going on in the beauty world? Why are they taking away so many awesome and amazing beauty products? And why do they hate me personally? I have no idea. Anyway, let’s rant about some discontinued faves again.

BOY SMELLS SUEDE PONY EDP
This one has been teased for a while. But now I have confirmation. Early last month, Boy Smells did a massive rebrand and relaunched their iconic fragrance range in updated packaging. And unfortunately, out of the nine fragrances they relaunched with, Suede Pony wasn’t one of them. That news gutted me. Suede Pony is definitely a swerve to my usual tastes. But it’s such a unique fragrance. With notes of Hazelnut, Pineapple, Violet, and Suede, it really makes a statement. Not to mention it’s a two-spray wonder. It lasts all day on the skin. I always get compliments when I wear it. I do hope they bring it back eventually.

TOWER 28 JUICEBALM TINTED LIP BALM
Tower 28, I rode so hard for you. And this is how you repay me? All jokes aside, I had suspected that these got their plug pulled when they didn’t come to Australia when Tower 28 launched at Mecca. But I got the confirmation last week (on TikTok no less). I believe that these got replaced by the LipSoftie’s that they launched last year. And while those are bomb, the JuiceBalm’s were something special. Great amount of pigment and super nourishing on the lips.

DIO FOREVER NATURAL POWDER BRONZER
I swear, Dior is making their way onto my shit list the way they keep taking away my favourite products (this is their third time featuring on one of my lists). This bronzer was everything to me. The finish was matte, but not flat. It was super easy to blend out. And the range of shades was stellar for a high-end luxury brand. What makes the situation worse is that they relaunched this bronzer with a worse shade range and *allegedly* worse finish.

MECCA MAX BROW GURU TINTED BROW GEL
Funny story. I picked this up last May and I had this one pegged for the Mecca Max One Brand Recommendations that I did. I liked how filling this brow gel was because of the fibers. And it made my brows stay in place all day. Only to discover in SEPTEMBER that it was no longer on the Mecca website. Are you kidding me? How did it disappear so quickly? And why? Mecca Max, please explain.

CIATE WATERMELON BURST HYDRATING PRIMER*
Early this year, Lottie London Limited, the parent company for brands such Lottie London, Skin Proud, and Ciate went into Administration. And even before that announcement, there had been whispers that they had been quietly pulling out of certain markets. I didn’t even catch on that Ciate had pulled out of Mecca here last year until it was bought to my attention by a fellow blogger. If Ciate does end up in the great makeup drawer in the sky, that would be a shame. As they had quite a few products I really enjoyed. The Watermelon Primer was a springtime go to for when my skin was still a little on the dry side post winter.

And that’s enough ranting for one day. Let’s see how long it takes for another favourite product to disappear for me. And as always, let me know what beloved beauty products have been discontinued in the comments.

Cheers and love
